Job Description & Requirements

Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility. Permanent address required in submittal for confirmation.

• Must-Have Skills:
• Previous travel experience
• Prefer 1.5–2 years of experience
  

Unit Notes

Department: OR | RN

• Unit: Surgical Services Flr 2 - OR RN
• # of Suites: 10 ORs (run 8 rooms/day)
• Average # of Cases/Day: 30-40
• Required Certifications: BLS ???? and ACLS RN Compact or State ID LICENSE COVID CARD REFERENCES ️????
• Common Cases:
• Age Range: Pediatric to Geriatric
• Ortho: Total joints, ORIF, arthroscopies, foot & ankle, ortho spine (travelers typically don’t do)
• General: Robotics, appys, choles, etc.
• Urology: Ureteroscopies, cystos, robotic prostatectomies
• ️ GYN: Robotics, hysterectomies, hysteroscopies, lap tubals, A&P repairs, D&Cs
• ???? Vascular: Fistulas (creations & declots), endovascular iliac & aortic stents, carotids, TCARs
• Spine: Lamis, fusions (thoracic, lumbar, cervical)
• Podiatry
• ENT: Navigated FESS, thyroid, parathyroid, septoplasties, radical necks, T&As and ear tubes on kids
• ️
• Scrubbing Required for RNs: No
• ️ Charge Nurse On Shift: Yes, during day shift
• OR Techs: CSTs & Orderlys (clean rooms between cases)
• EMR: EPIC
  

Shifts & Scheduling

• 4x10hr shifts: 0630–1700
• 3x12hr shifts: 0630–1900
  
  

Weeknight Call

• Yes, to cover PTO. Otherwise, 1 crew staffed with 12-hour call shifts
  
  

Weekend Call

• Yes, 2nd call crew 0700–1900
• Weekend nights staffed, 1–2 shifts every 6 weeks
  
  

Holiday Call

• Yes, if needed; will be assigned
  
  

Call Response Time: 30 minutes

Floating Requirements

• Yes, to Surgery Center across the parking lot
  
  

Dress Code

• Blue scrubs provided
• OR shoes or shoe covers
• Eye protection required (prefer candidates bring their own)
  
  

Orientation

• 1 week with unit-based educator
