Job summary

Healthforce Healthcare LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg travel assignment in Helena, MT. The 13-week contract starts 11/15/2026 with 36 guaranteed hours per week and a 12-hour night shift schedule on a 12x3 rotation.

Two years of Med Surg RN experience and prior travel nursing experience are required, along with BLS certification and proficiency with Epic EMR. RNs must be able to float between units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, skilled care for Med Surg patients, including assessments, vitals, meds, IV therapy, wound care and changes in status.
• Maintain patient safety, respond to nurse calls, coordinate with treating team and physicians.
• Document care in Epic EMR with assessments, plans, medications, and status changes.
• Float between medical floor and surgical/onc units as needed (approx. 1:5 to 1:6).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds and assist with discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, skilled care for Med Surg patients, including ongoing assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and response to clinical changes
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, respond to nurse call bells, and communicate with the treating team and physicians to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately in the Epic EMR, including assessments, plan of care, medications, and changes in patient status
• Float between medical floor and surgical/onc units as required, adhering to unit-specific ratios (approximately 1:5 to 1:6) and maintaining clinical competency across units
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds, participate in discharge planning, and assist with procedures as needed

Requirements

• BLS certification required

• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts on a 12x3 rotation; eligible to work under the 200-mile radius rule with all RTO or schedule requests submitted at the time of submittal
