Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg unit in Glendale, CA. This 8-week contract starts 10/05/2026 with guaranteed 48 hours per week across three 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM).

Responsibilities include delivering coordinated nursing care, supervising staff, data collection, care planning, patient education, and collaboration with the health team; EPIC and Cerner experience is preferred to support charting and backfill.

Qualifications

• RN license active in the state of practice.
• BLS or CPR certification required.
• BSN preferred.
• At least two years of recent experience; acute care/Med/Surg preferred.
• EPIC and Cerner experience preferred.

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent action.
• Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, delegating and coordinating duties to ensure safe, effective care and timely discharge planning.
• Provide education to patients, families, and team members; communicate health information clearly to treatment teams.
• Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to promote a safe, healing environment and continuity of care.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license active in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required; facility-specific BLS (HS-BLS or RQI BLS) may be required.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; acute care/Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with nursing processes, data collection, and care coordination; ability to work in a hospital setting; EPIC and Cerner experience is preferred.
• Additional: Must be able to work a travel assignment and meet facility vaccination requirements.
