Job Description & Requirements

Unit: Ortho-Neuro, 33 beds (all private rooms)

Shift: 12-hour days, weekends as scheduled, 36 hours/week

Required Certifications: BLS

Experience: 2 years in MedSurg with Ortho and PCA pump experience

Unit Information

Charting: EPIC (EPIC experience required)

Patient Ratios: 1:6

Common Diagnoses: Elective surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures, neuro-surgeries, general MedSurg

Equipment: PCA pumps, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow oxygen (managed by RT)

Floating: Required to MedSurg units (first to float)

Additional Info

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun for nights, Sat/Sun for days)

Holiday Requirement: As needed, based on unit needs

Scrub Color: Royal Blue (scrub jackets optional, must be royal blue)

Orientation: 1 day EPIC, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor, 3rd day on their own
