Job Description

RN ICU 2 year recent experience required

The Registered Nurse is accountable to the Unit Director, Manager, or designated supervisor for the overall practice of nursing within the unit. This role involves delivering professional nursing care to address human responses to life-threatening conditions, in accordance with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Standards. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, executing nursing interventions, and evaluating the outcomes of care and other medical treatments. The goal is to protect, maintain, and restore health across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations. The Critical Care Nurse must be proficient in identifying cardiac arrhythmias and responding effectively to life-threatening emergencies.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Demonstrates the ability to function effectively as a team member and acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare staff.
• Promotes and maintains open, respectful, and effective communication.
• Possesses strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• Maintains a high level of professionalism in all communications.
• Exhibits emotional resilience and professionalism in high-stress situations, displaying tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a calm demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  
  

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as per American Heart Association (AHA) standards, with renewal every two years.
• Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as per AHA standards, with renewal every two years.
• Current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as per AHA standards, with renewal every two years (may be waived based on staffing requirements).
• Completion of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, with renewal as required.
