Job summary

SST Direct is seeking an experienced Tower Crane Mechanic for field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on tower cranes at active construction jobsites across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. This role requires travel to project locations with a two-week rotation to bring employees home. Fort Worth, TX is the stated working location.

Pay ranges from $28/hr to $50/hr, depending on experience. CDL is not required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining tower cranes or similar crane equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and crane-control-system issues in a field-service environment.
• Experience working independently at active construction sites and performing repairs safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on tower cranes and related crane equipment to maintain safe, reliable operation.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, structural, and control-system issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Inspect crane components (hoists, motors, gearboxes, brakes, wire ropes, etc.) for wear and failures.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions at construction sites and complete necessary repairs, replacements, and testing.
• Read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturer specs to identify faults and repair procedures.
• Perform safety checks after maintenance to verify proper crane function and compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate with field service teams, crane operators, and project personnel to schedule repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
• Identify replacement parts and assist with procurement and tool maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE around heavy equipment.
