Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Field Engineer to join our Electrical Power Services team in the United States. You will perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and startup activities for protection and control systems in substations, coordinating with project managers and customers to ensure safe, high-quality execution.

The role requires 3–5 years of field experience, strong knowledge of protection schemes, and the ability to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of field experience in substation commissioning, testing, or protection and control.
• Ability to follow testing procedures and provide corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC power systems, protection schemes, and relays.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project requirements and prepare commissioning plans and test procedures.
• Perform testing of protective relays, panels, breakers, and SCADA systems.
• Coordinate field activities with engineers, customers, and contractors.
• Prepare reports, redlines, and technical recommendations.
• Ensure safety and quality compliance on site.
