Job summary

LT Directional Boring (LTDB), a utilities contractor serving California, seeks a crew member to operate horizontal directional drilling equipment for underground utility installations. You will read bore plans, work with the drill crew, and monitor operations to avoid existing utilities.

This role requires a strong work ethic, ability to travel for out-of-town projects, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Class A license preferred for advancement.
• Roadside construction experience is desirable.
• Experience with concrete and/or asphalt work.
• Must understand underground construction phases (manholes, trenching, tie-ins).
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment for underground utility installations.
• Read and follow bore plans, utility maps, and project drawings.
• Monitordrilling operations to avoid existing utilities and obstacles.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
• Complete bore logs and required job documentation.
• Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and jobsite cleanup.

Education
