Job summary

Shimmick, through Axia Electric, seeks a Commissioning Field Engineer to lead and document the commissioning of electrical and process control systems for water and infrastructure projects in Southern California. Initial assignment at a Water Reclamation Facility Expansion in Lake Elsinore with potential regional travel.

Ideal candidates bring commissioning startup and system integration experience, knowledge of SCADA/PLC automation, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
• Experience in commissioning, startup, or system integration for water/wastewater or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience developing commissioning plans and test procedures.
• Familiarity with SCADA/PLC automation and FAT/SAT.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage project commissioning and test plans.
• Schedule and execute commissioning field activities.
• Review equipment submittals and operations & maintenance submittals.
• Produce and distribute commissioning deliverables.
• Coordinate with system integrators, clients, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support FAT and SAT activities.
• Assist with design issues and constructability reviews.
