Job Summary

Dietitian, Dietitian Savannah. The Dietitian provides quality nutritional care through the development, implementation, and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapy. Responsibilities include conducting nutrition assessments, developing individualized nutrition care plans, supporting enteral and parenteral nutrition regimens, providing education, and collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree with major studies in a food and nutrition-related field.
  • Current state licensure or certification, if required by the state.
  • Current professional dietetics registration.
  • One year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
• Additional Information:
  • Perform nutrition assessments and reassessments, identify nutrition goals and interventions, and monitor and evaluate patient progress.
  • Develop and monitor enteral and parenteral nutrition support regimens in collaboration with pharmacy and medical staff.
  • Collaborate with Speech Therapy regarding diet progression and transitional feeding.
  • Provide clear and concise medical record documentation.
  • Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors when developing nutrition care plans.
  • Evaluate potential food-drug and herb-supplement interactions.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care rounds, wound care, and ventilator weaning activities.
  • Review and approve general and therapeutic menus and menu substitutions.
  • Conduct meal rounds and tray audits to verify that patient meals meet prescribed diet and quality standards.
  • Serve as a resource to food service staff and medical staff regarding evidence-based nutrition practices.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, including data collection and analysis.
  • Maintain current professional registration requirements and pursue continuing education or specialized certification.
