Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to perform general diagnostic radiology procedures, including portable imaging, in a hospital setting. The role operates on a day shift with 40 hours per week and may require traveling between UNC facilities.

The position requires an accredited Associate's Degree or Radiologic Sciences program, ARRT certification, ongoing CE requirements, and BLS. Licensing may be required where applicable, and no prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications

• Accredited Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program required.
• ARRT certification in Radiography required.
• Must maintain registry status and complete annual continuing education requirements.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• No prior experience required.
• Proficient in producing quality radiographic images consistently.
• Skilled in troubleshooting equipment and workflow issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Radiology unit within a hospital setting.
• Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week.
• No call requirements.
• No weekend requirements.
• Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed.
• Must be proficient in performing portable exams.
• Must be able to float to outpatient settings as needed.
• Utilizes RIS, CIS, PACS, SMS, and HIS systems for documentation and image management.
• Adheres to departmental protocols and policies while assisting in troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues.
• Verifies patient identity, history, and pregnancy status prior to administering ionizing radiation.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographic and examination information.
• Documents completion or cancellation of procedures and transmits QA-ed images to PACS.
• Maintains image management equipment and reports issues to appropriate resources.
• Assesses patient condition and develops appropriate action plans, including for emergency situations.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Shares knowledge with staff and students within the work unit.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
