Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Montclair, New Jersey. Start 09/21/2026 with a Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–8:00 PM schedule and on-call coverage in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities include performing a full range of MR imaging studies, patient preparation, safety monitoring, and coordination with Radiology and IV teams. Requires NJ license, ARRT MR, ARMRIT, BLS, and 1+ year MRI experience.

Qualifications

• Active NJ state license or compact radiology licensure in hand at submittal.
• ARRT (MR) certification and ARMRIT certification.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year MRI experience and Siemens MRI systems proficiency.
• Ability to perform peripheral IV starts and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of MR imaging studies with attention to protocol and image quality.
• Prepare patients, position for optimal study quality, adjust sequences and monitor safety.
• Screen for contraindications and manage emergencies per protocol.
• Administer contrast when indicated and ensure safe patient handling and line access.
• Document in Epic, verify orders, label images, and transfer studies timely.
• Collaborate with Radiology, IV teams, Respiratory, Pharmacy and other units.
• Maintain equipment safety checks and participate in QC; adhere to MRI safety practices.
• Maintain professional conduct and participate in on-call coverage.

MRI Technologist (MRI Tech) – MRI specialty | Montclair, New Jersey | Start 09/21/2026 | Duration: Weeks (travel assignment) | Weekly pay: $2,637–$2,773 per week | Guaranteed hours: 0.0 | Primary shift: Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–8:00 PM with on‑call coverage. This travel assignment is in a community hospital setting and includes additional posted shifts and on‑call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of MR imaging studies (neuro, body, cardiac, MRA/MRV, MRCP, musculoskeletal, breast, pediatric outpatient/acute) with attention to protocol and image quality
• Prepare patients, position for optimal study quality, select coils, and adjust sequences as needed; monitor patient comfort and safety
• Screen for contraindications, assess safety in the MRI environment, and manage emergency patient situations per protocol
• Administer contrast when indicated and ensure safe patient handling and line access; manage IV starts per scope
• Ensure accurate documentation in the charting system (Epic), verify orders, label images properly, and facilitate timely image transfer
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Radiology, Interpretation Services, IV teams, Respiratory, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation) to support patient care and workflow
• Maintain equipment safety checks and participate in routine QC; adhere to MRI safety practices and isolation precautions when required
• Maintain professional conduct and patient‑centered communication; participate in on‑call coverage as scheduled

Requirements

• Proficiency with Siemens MRI systems
• Ability to perform peripheral IV starts and manage adult patient populations; comfortable in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional unit
• Non-local candidates only; 50‑mile radius rule applies (no local candidates)
• Onboarding requirements: complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing; onsite orientation modules (Allied) estimated 2–3 hours
