Job description

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, maintains and cleans equipment, and maintains required documentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepares patient for exam. Relieves patient anxiety by translating examination details into layman's terms based on professional knowledge. Ensures consent form is obtained if necessary.
2. Performs x-ray exams. Conducts exams according to established standards and procedures of the division. Positions patients correctly, uses immobilization/support devices, adjusts equipment for proper exposure, monitors patient condition, and reports any abnormalities to the Radiologist. Enters patient data and exam details into the system.
3. Processes and maintains images. Labels films correctly, maintains records, and ensures images are properly marked and labeled with date and patient information. Completes tracking steps for each exam.
4. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist by the New York State Department of Health.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.
