TotalMed Allied is seeking a Travel Radiation Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Farmington, NM. The role requires 40 hours per week, with 8-hour day shifts, and involves administering radiation treatments and ensuring patient safety under the guidance of a radiation oncologist.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Current BLS certification.
• AR RT (T) National Certification.
• State licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment.
• Position patients accurately and comfortably for each treatment session.
• Verify treatment settings and patient identity before delivering therapy.
• Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
• Use imaging technology (e.g., CT, X-rays) to guide accurate treatment delivery.
• Document treatment details and maintain accurate patient records.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, dosimetrists, and other team members.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, side effects, and care during treatment.
• Inspect, maintain, and calibrate radiation therapy equipment regularly.
• Follow strict radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
