Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing in Rowlett, Texas is seeking a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment. You will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and promote independence.

The role includes documenting progress, educating patients, coordinating with the healthcare team, and adhering to safety and infection control. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, PTO after 1560 hours, and licensure/CEU

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices are calibrated and ready for sessions
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility and strength
• Observe performance, document progress, and report concerns to the supervising PT
• Record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record
• Instruct patients on home exercises and proper use of assistive devices
• Collaborate with PTs, OTs, and other clinicians for comprehensive care
• Maintain a safe environment with infection control and safety standards
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development activities
• Assist with discharge planning to support transitions to home or community settings
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
