Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Home Health assignment serving a rural, community-based patient population across Virginia's Eastern Shore.

Requirements

• Current PTA license required if applicable
• BLS certification required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Specialty experience within the last year required

Responsibilities

• Home health setting serving adult and geriatric patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or chronic disease
• Work across a geographically diverse rural service area
• Complete approximately 6 patient visits per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Collaborate with physical therapists and an interdisciplinary care team including nursing, OT, speech therapy, medical social work, and home health aides
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Support patient recovery and independence while helping prevent hospitalizations and improve quality of life
• Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
• Prior perm employees must have separated from employment for at least 6 months before being eligible for travel assignments
• Requests for time off should be minimal, ideally no full calendar weeks off and no more than 7 total days during the assignment
