Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is actively seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for an 8-week travel assignment in Springfield, MO. The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, provide hands-on therapy, and document progress while supporting patient mobility and independence.

Requirements include an active PTA license in MO and current BLS certification. New grads are welcome; benefits include health coverage, PTO after 1560 hours, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (preferred).
• New grads welcome to apply (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are clean and ready for sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and provide hands-on assistance with movements and transfers.
• Observe and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients on home exercise programs and safe use of assistive devices.
• Coordinate with therapists and other healthcare professionals for a comprehensive care plan.
• Maintain a safe environment adhering to infection control and regulatory standards.
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development.
• Assist in discharge planning for transitions to home-based settings.
