American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift in Johnson City, Tennessee. The role requires a compact or TN RN license and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, with 3x12 hour night shifts from 18:30 to 07:00.

Travel nurses are welcome; there is no on-call requirement, and benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and per diem options. Orientation begins on Sundays with online modules and hospital onboarding.

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift role requiring a compact or TN license and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Floating to other units is required, with 1:7 med-surg ratios when floated
• No on-call responsibilities
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online modules
• Responsibilities include supporting nursing students and participating in clinical education alongside patient care
• Modules are completed during orientation and are tracked electronically
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly due to census without penalty
• Scrub or dress code details will be provided during onboarding
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled by the unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• American Heart Association (AHA) certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital service area
• Must be willing and able to complete drug testing 12-14 days before start and return if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
