Pre Op Registered Nurse (PRE OP) Location: unspecified. This position involves providing comprehensive preoperative nursing care in a surgical setting. The role requires supporting patients through their pre-surgical process, preparing them physically and emotionally for surgery, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the preoperative area.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license; certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in preoperative or perioperative settings; experience with Epic charting system; experience with patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional responsibilities include assessing patients, obtaining preoperative consent, administering medications, initiating and managing IV lines, and providing patient education on surgical procedures and recovery.
• Submission requires current certifications and CA RN licensure, with applications due at least 10 days prior to the start date.
• Candidates should possess experience with managing patient care in outpatient or ambulatory surgery settings, including appropriate documentation and patient discharge instructions.
• The position may require flexibility due to variable shift start times from 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM and end times from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Experience with the following procedures and protocols is desirable: airway assessment, medication reconciliation, IV therapy, and patient safety protocols.
