Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Postpartum RN for a 13-week assignment in Louisville, KY. You will provide family-centered postpartum care, educate families, and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure safe mother-baby outcomes.

The role requires one year of postpartum RN experience, a valid RN license, and current BLS and NRP certifications. ACLS preferred. Travel benefits, comprehensive health coverage, and competitive pay are offered.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a postpartum RN.
• Valid RN license per state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain postpartum and newborn care to families to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments to mothers and newborns safely.
• Assess and monitor the health of postpartum mothers and newborns, documenting significant findings.
• Assist with and educate on breastfeeding and infant care.
• Perform newborn assessments, including vital signs and screenings.
• Respond to life-saving situations using evidence-based protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and educate new parents on postpartum health.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for mother-infant bonding.
• Document all relevant history and exams in medical records.
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice.
