Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel assignment in Phoenix, AZ. This 26-week RN travel role requires 36 hours per week, with night shifts in a PICU setting.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of acute care experience and relevant critical care certifications. As a PICU RN, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide critical care to pediatric patients, monitor patients continuously, and support families.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings (EKG, O2 sats) and report changes.
• Change dressings, insert IVs and catheters, and manage lines as appropriate.
• Operate ventilators and other critical care equipment per protocol.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, including life-threatening situations.
• Support with CV catheter insertion/removal and endotracheal tubes where indicated.
