Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care in Phoenix, AZ. Start date 09/28/2026 for a 26-week assignment with 36 hours per week and 12-hour rotating shifts. Travel status and required BLS/PALS/NRP certifications are emphasized, with 1–2 years of acute care experience preferred.

The role involves critical pediatric care, collaboration with physicians and families, and support across the PICU team in a dynamic travel setting.

Qualifications

• BLS, PALS and NRP certifications are required.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care RN experience.
• PICU RN experience or familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes.
• Follow cardiac and respiratory monitor readings (EKG, O2, CVP/arterial lines when applicable).
• Insert IVs and manage dressings; operate and adjust PICU equipment (ventilators).
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, including life-saving actions.
• Assist with placement or removal of CV catheters, arterial lines, external drains, and endotracheal tubes.
