Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a PICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Austin, TX. The nurse will provide advanced critical care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity setting, with a focus on assessments, treatment plans, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires one year of PICU experience, an active RN license, BLS, and PALS/ENPC certification. Travel benefits, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a PICU RN.
• Valid RN license per state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per pediatric nursing protocols.
• Prepare and operate advanced equipment (ventilators, central line setups, monitors).
• Continuously observe patient conditions and notify physicians of changes.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret data to detect deviations.
• Respond to life-saving situations per pediatric ICU standards.
• Initiate education plans for patients and families as prescribed.
• Document history and physicals in medical records.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
