Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Travel PICU RN for a 13-week assignment. The role provides advanced pediatric critical care to acutely ill children in a high-acuity setting, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

You will perform ventilator management and complex care plans, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care while maintaining safety and policies. Strong critical thinking and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of recent PICU RN experience is required.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per pediatric protocols.
• Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment (ventilators, central lines, monitors).
• Observe patient conditions and notify physicians of critical changes.
• Monitor vital signs and interpret data to detect deviations.
• Respond to life-saving situations per pediatric ICU standards.
• Educate patients and families as prescribed by physicians.
• Document history and physical assessments in medical records.
• Perform other duties within scope of practice.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
