Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment in Clackamas, Oregon. The PTA will support a Physical Therapist, implement treatment plans, and assist patients with exercises, modalities, and mobility tasks in a variety of settings.

The role emphasizes patient care, documentation, home exercise instruction, and collaboration with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program; state-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices are calibrated, clean, and ready for patient sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises to improve mobility, strength, and balance with hands-on assistance.
• Record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with physical/occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards in the treatment environment.
• Participate in discharge planning to support transitions to home-based settings.
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices.
