Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a travel assignment to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mobility impairments. The role emphasizes evidence-based rehabilitation plans and safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Strong clinical, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Proficiency with PC skills and following instructions
• Physical ability to move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Effective interpersonal skills to work with diverse personnel
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism
• Visual acuity and effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using tests, examinations, and history to identify treatment needs

• Use various techniques and operate specialized equipment safely to improve mobility and reduce pain
• Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes accurately
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, injury prevention, and self-management
• Maintain a safe environment adhering to infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in quality assurance and professional development activities
• Assist in discharge planning for continued patient recovery
• Perform additional duties within scope of practice as assigned
