Travel Physical Therapist (PT)
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Walsenburg, Colorado. Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy
- Physical therapy experience (new graduates welcome to apply)
- Other certifications or licenses may be required
Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to high‑quality, safe patient care.
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management strategies.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and effective interpersonal communication.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills.
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100lbs), push, pull, and bend.

- Must work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) and present a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor Skills
- Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move when assisting with procedures and/or using departmental equipment.
Mental Requirements
- Must cope with frequent contact with the public while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Must work under occasional close supervision as well as independently.
- Must handle irregular activity schedules and maintain concentration to detail.
Sensory
- Must possess visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively.
