Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

- Doctorate degree in physical therapy
- Physical Therapy experience; new grads are welcome

Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they create personalized evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to help patients recover and become independent.
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques
- Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management techniques
- Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions to community or home settings
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Ability to read instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficient PC skills
- Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills – perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or use of department equipment
- Mental Requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without close supervision, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration
- Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication
