Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in accordance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

- Physical therapy experience (new graduates encouraged to apply)
- Additional certifications or licenses may be required
Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments, improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life. The role is performed in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, using exercise and manual therapy to create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans.
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain
- Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely, ensuring maintenance and calibration
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes in the medical record
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management strategies
- Maintain a safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transition to community or home settings
- Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills
- Physical abilities: ability to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a diverse team, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, ambulation while assisting with procedures, use of equipment
- Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work both under close supervision and independently
- Capacity to work with irregular activity schedules and maintain concentration on detail
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
