Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with 1+ year of outpatient experience and ME state licensure for a 13-week travel assignment. Responsibilities include treating mostly adults in a hospital outpatient setting, with occasional coverage for ED and day surgery patients.

Expect 60‑minute sessions and a caseload of 8–10 per day, using Cerner EMR. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy, BLS, and knowledge of adaptive equipment; 40‑hour weeks, Monday–Friday,

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of outpatient PT experience required.
ME state license or compact license if applicable.
BLS certification required.
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or higher.
Experience with manual therapy and exercise science.
Experience educating patients on adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

Treat predominantly outpatient cases in a hospital setting with occasional ED/day surgery coverage.
Care for adults and school-aged children with various diagnoses.
Handle post-ortho, post-spinal surgery, geriatric, work injury, and neuro cases.
60‑minute evaluation and treatment bookings under one patient care model.
Average 8–10 patients per day; uses Cerner EMR.
40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30; no weekend/on-call.
Occasional float to inpatient coverage one floor away.

Responsibilities

Outpatient PT setting located within the hospital, primarily treating outpatients with occasional coverage for ED consults, day surgery patients, or inpatients
Patient population includes mostly adults and school-aged children with non-pediatric development diagnoses
Case types include post-ortho, post-spinal surgery, geriatric, work injury, and neurological imbalance patients
60-minute bookings for both evaluations and treatments, following a single patient care model
Average caseload of 8-10 patients per day, subject to change
Uses Cerner EMR
Shift schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 0800-1630
No weekend rotation or on-call requirements
Rare possibility of floating to inpatient coverage located one floor apart in the same building
Department is staffed with 3 PTs and has an on-site supervisor available on weekdays
Orientation includes NEO plus 2-3 days of department-specific skillset training, depending on experience level
Rehab department closes on 6 major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day); clinician expected to work all other scheduled holidays
RTO requires manager approval
