Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a travel assignment in a rural Western Montana community. The position features a 13-week duration with 40 hours per week across day shifts in a critical access hospital providing inpatient rehab, outpatient services, and home visits.

Responsibilities include evaluating and planning individualized treatment programs, collaborating with care teams, and addressing mobility, pain, and independence goals. Epic EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PT experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and SNF settings.
• Skills in assessment, body mechanics, AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring.
• Experience treating orthopedic conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, and joint replacements.
• Experience with neurologic conditions such as post-stroke rehabilitation preferred.
• Knowledge of home exercise programs, patient/family education, and safety/injury prevention.
• Familiarity with equipment such as gait belts, hospital/specialty beds, call lights, and bed alarms.
• Experience with modalities such as cryotherapy and moist heat.
• Ability to perform documentation including evaluations, care plans, goals, and discharge planning.
• License required if applicable.

Details

• Critical access hospital setting including outpatient, inpatient, home visits, and a swing bed program
• Unit: PT Inpatient Rehab
• Rural community setting with broad clinical exposure across acute, outpatient, and long-term care settings
• Shift options include 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts, day shift 8:00-16:30
• Hours may range from 34-40 hours per week depending on census or caseload
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirement
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
