Job Summary: Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a 18-week travel assignment in Tyler, Texas. Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy
- Physical Therapy experience (new grads welcomed)
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients' physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment need
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals
- Implement PT treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain
- Operate specialized PT equipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of devices
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimize treatment outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, injury prevention strategies, and self-management techniques to promote long‑term functional recovery
- Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients' comfort needs during therapy sessions
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in PT
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued patient progress in community or home‑based settings
- Perform other duties within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with professionals and maintain professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures
- Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work without assistance, handle irregular schedules, and sustain concentration to detail
- Sensory – Must possess visual acuity and effective communication
