Job summary

Alerion Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist for a travel assignment at the Student Services facility in Stony Brook, NY. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Must live more than 30 miles away from the facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital or laboratory setting.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from outpatients following established protocols and ensuring patient safety.
• Transport blood specimens to laboratory departments per transport procedures.
• Enter data concerning blood specimens into a computer database.
• Maintain appointment schedules and logs of patients seen and tests obtained.
• Supervise and support medical technology students in phlebotomy theory and techniques.
