Job summary

Vero Diagnostics in Troy, MI is seeking a detail-oriented phlebotomist/medical assistant for a full-time role. You will coordinate patient lab collections, instruct patients on specimen collection, correctly label and process requisitions, and package samples for transport to our laboratory.

You will travel to client sites to perform phlebotomy, enter data accurately, collect billing and demographic information, and liaise with clinics to ensure reports are generated and inquiries are handled

Qualifications

• One year phlebotomy or MA experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy or MA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the collection of specimens.
• Provide instruction to patients on how to provide blood specimens.
• Proper labeling of specimens and requisitions.
• Prepare specimens and requisition forms, including packaging into biohazard bags.
• Data entry and processing specimens accurately.
• Obtain billing information and demographic information.
• Ensure requisitions are complete and assist with missing information.
• Confirm reports are generated and liaise with laboratory.
• Act as liaison between clinic and laboratory.
• Travel to client sites to provide collection.
• Provide excellent phlebotomy skills.
