Job summary

Vero Diagnostics is seeking dependable professionals to coordinate patient lab collections in Flint/Saginaw, MI and at our Troy, MI laboratory. You will instruct patients on proper blood collection, label specimens, complete requisitions, and handle packaging and data entry with accuracy.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, medical training, and phlebotomy or MA certification. Travel to client sites is required; benefits are provided upon eligibility.

Qualifications

• One year phlebotomy or MA experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the collection of specimens to be processed at the laboratory.
• Provide instruction to patients on how to provide blood specimens.
• Label specimens, complete requisitions and ensure all required information.
• Prepare specimens and requisition forms, including packaging into biohazard bags.
• Perform data entry and process specimens accurately.
• Obtain billing information and copy patient insurance cards and demographics.
• Ensure requisitions are completed and assist with missing information requests.
• Confirm reports are generated and facilitate inquiries to the laboratory.
• Act as liaison between clinic and laboratory; coordinate travel to client sites for collection.
• Provide excellent phlebotomy skills.
