Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer in Milwaukee for a 13‑week travel assignment. You will perform MFM obstetric imaging with 1+ year of experience, RDMS OB/GYN, and work a 40‑hour week on days, with no weekends or on‑call.

Qualifications

• RDMS registration with OB/GYN specialty (ARDMS) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of Maternal Fetal Medicine sonography experience.
• License required if applicable.
• Proficient in obstetric ultrasound imaging including first trimester, NT, anatomy, growth, dopplers, BPP, fetal echocardiography, and transvaginal ultrasound.
• Experience with amniocentesis and CVS.
• Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis.
• Basic computer proficiency including EMR use.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and procedures.
• Operate transducers and adjust settings (doppler, color imaging, M‑mode).
• Review patient records and gather clinical history before exams.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Participate in QA studies and document exams and billing.
• Assist in clinical instruction of sonography students and residents.
• Handle patient positioning and transport duties.

• Monday-Friday day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekends, no call, no holidays, no floating

Requirements

• RDMS registration with OB/GYN specialty issued by ARDMS

• Minimum 1 year of sonographer experience specifically in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• License required if applicable
• Proficient in performing obstetric ultrasound imaging including first trimester, nuchal translucency, anatomy, growth, dopplers, biophysical profile, basic fetal echocardiography, and transvaginal ultrasound
• Experience with amniocentesis and chorionic villi sampling (CVS)
• Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis
• Basic computer proficiency including EMR use

Additional Information

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging and procedures including portable imaging as needed
• Selects appropriate transducer and technical settings including doppler, color imaging, M-mode, and real time
• Reviews patient records and communicates with patients to gather clinical history prior to exams
• Calibrates and maintains ultrasound equipment, reporting failures to biomedical staff
• Participates in quality assurance studies and maintains accurate exam and billing documentation
• Assists in clinical instruction of sonography students, OB/GYN residents, and medical students
• Requires patient positioning and transport duties involving lifting and pushing/pulling
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
