Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Pediatrics

Position Overview

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) focusing on Pediatrics is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients. The therapist will work a 3x12 hour schedule, with day shifts from 7 AM to 7:30 PM, including holiday rotation and every other weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments to pediatric patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards of care.
• Monitor patients’ progress and response to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support for pediatric patients, including those in NICU Level IV or Pediatric ICU units.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charting using the Epic system.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training, and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric respiratory therapy, preferably in NICU Level IV settings. Pediatric ICU experience will be considered.
• Current RRT certification and valid licenses: NBRC and SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider).
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
• Experience with Epic preferred, but not mandatory.

Employment Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (7 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call Requirement: No
• Floating Requirement: May depend on experience, but generally not required across sister facilities.
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility permitted to call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.

Additional Information

• Travelers should be aware of the possibility of being assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November.
• Parking is available for a one-time fee.
