Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks a seasoned PCICU travel nurse in Austin, TX for a 13-week assignment. The role focuses on intensive pediatric cardiac care with 12-hour day shifts and a 36-hour weekly schedule. RN licensure, BLS/PALS, and ACLS are expected; 1+ year in PCICU required. A tax-free stipend may be provided.

The PCICU RN will work with a multidisciplinary team to monitor, treat, and support critically ill pediatric patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a PCICU or similar critical care setting.
• PALS and BLS certifications are required.
• ACLS and other certifications may be required before starting assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to pediatric patients with cardiovascular conditions, including post-surgical and congenital cases.
• Continuously monitor vitals, rhythms, oxygenation and other critical parameters and respond to changes.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies and sedatives, per protocol and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with ventilator management and airway support as needed.
• Support families with care plans, education and compassionate communication.
• Document assessments, interventions and changes in the EHR.
