Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 9‑week travel assignment in Asheville, North Carolina. • Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification (preferred).
• NIHSS Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during cardiac-related procedures.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety of telemetry patients.
• Observes patient conditions and notifies physicians as needed.
• Responds to cardiac emergencies per protocols.
• Documents nursing history and assessments.
• Initiates patient education on cardiac health and risk factors.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for comprehensive telemetry care.
• Maintains patient and client confidentiality.
• Performs other duties within scope of practice.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions
• Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Essential Skills

• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Physical and Technical Abilities

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
• Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
• Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail
• Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
