Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing assignment in Abilene, Texas. This 13-week contract offers 36 hours per week, night shifts.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. You will monitor cardiac patients, administer medications, and operate monitoring equipment in a fast-paced PCU.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of acute care experience required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• NIH certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized monitoring equipment and interpret displays.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring data.
