Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift.

The PCU travel nurse will monitor cardiac and vital signs, manage care for step-down patients, and perform procedures such as IV starts and dressing changes. ACLS, BLS, NIH, and 2 years of acute care experience are required.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NIH certification may be required before assignment.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Monitor and interpret patient vitals and monitoring equipment.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring data.
