Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Youngstown, Ohio. The PCU RN provides bedside care for patients needing close monitoring, performs IV starts, medication administration, and monitors vital signs with rapid response to changes.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience and valid BLS/ACLS certifications. This 13-week travel assignment offers 36 hours per week, night shifts, and a tax-free stipend; benefits and pay

Qualifications

BLS and ACLS certifications required.
NIH certification may be required.
2 years of recent acute care experience.
Additional certifications may be required before start.

Responsibilities

Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions to treatment.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
