Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU assignment in Maine, requiring Maine or Compact licensure and at least 2 years of perioperative experience. Open to travelers, with a 13-week contract and local considerations.

Requirements include active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS timelines, and a BSN preferred. Responsibilities span PACU care, EPIC EMR use, and on-call duties within 30 minutes of hospital response.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact) in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• BLS required within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative or PACU experience required.
• Competence in airway management, cardiac monitoring, and administration of perioperative and conscious sedation medications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU/ASU of a hospital environment.
• Variable day shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
• Call rotation required Thursday through Sunday.
• Must be able to respond to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
• EPIC EMR used.
• Floating within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed.
• Provide efficient, professional, and compassionate nursing care to perioperative patients.
• Direct the activities of paraprofessional staff and ensure effective communication among patients, support persons, and the healthcare team.
• Implement nursing care through the full Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Comply with hospital and Nursing Department policies and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maine.
• Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension assignments.
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract.
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position.
