Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN for PACU - Post Anesthesia Care in Salem, VA. The 13-week assignment offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour day shifts, providing an opportunity to work in a high-acuity PACU environment.

The role requires 1 year of PACU RN experience, active RN license in Virginia, and current BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred credentials include PALS or ENPC. Competitive pay and full benefits accompany travel assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU RN experience.
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients transferring from the operating room and evaluate post-anesthesia status.
• Monitor vital signs, consciousness, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer prescribed meds and treatments per post-anesthesia nursing guidelines.
• Document care and communicate significant changes to the care team.
• Coordinate handoffs between OR, PACU, and post-PACU units.
• Operate PACU equipment including ventilators and monitors.
• Develop and deliver discharge instructions and education plans.
