Job summary

GHR Healthcare seeks a PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Petaluma, CA. You will care for adolescent to geriatric patients after anesthesia, on-site, with five 8-hour day shifts and potential call.

Requirements include CA RN license (or compact), 1+ year PACU experience, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and proficiency with Epic EHR. The role offers diverse perioperative exposure and a supportive team within a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California or a compact license at submission.
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or post-anesthesia care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records.
• Ability to manage post-anesthesia recovery and provide safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
• Complete pre-operative assessments, medication reconciliation, patient education, and post-procedure evaluations.
• Monitor airway, circulation, neurologic status, vital signs, sedation levels, pain, and recovery milestones.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and respiratory issues.
• Administer medications, reversal agents, blood products, anticoagulants, insulin protocols, IV vasopressors, and analgesics as ordered.
• Manage arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, PICC lines, nerve blocks, PCA pumps, and wound vacs.
• Support procedural sedation, endoscopy recovery, and recovery from a broad range of surgical procedures.
• Provide discharge instructions and coordinate follow-up with patients and families.
• Float between pre-op and Phase I/II recovery areas as needed.
