Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Travel PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract near West of Albuquerque, NM. The role delivers postoperative care and partners with perioperative teams to ensure safe recovery.

Compensation up to $3,300 per week based on experience; RN license in NM or eligibility required, with BLS and ACLS. PACU experience preferred and the ability to document accurately in EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required.
• Active NM RN license eligible for practice.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Recent PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience.
• Strong assessment, prioritization, medication administration, and emergency-response skills.
• Current knowledge of PACU, perioperative, post-anesthesia, and acute-care nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in PACU after anesthesia/surgery.
• Monitor vitals, airway, consciousness, pain and overall status in PACU.
• Assess for complications and respond to changes in clinical status.
• Administer meds, IV therapies and other treatments per orders.
• Manage postoperative pain and nausea for safe recovery.
• Perform thorough patient assessments before, during, and after PACU.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physicians and perioperative team.
• Educate patients and families on recovery, meds, wound care and discharge.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Follow infection prevention and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork in fast-paced perioperative setting.
• Support positive patient experience and collaborative surgical team.
