Job Summary

Physical Therapist, Outpatient. This position provides outpatient physical therapy services primarily to adults and school-aged children in a rural community setting. Care may include post-orthopedic and post-spinal surgical recovery, geriatrics, work injuries, neurological imbalances, and other general physical therapy needs.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, preferably five 8-hour shifts per week; four 10-hour shifts may also be considered. Schedule may be somewhat variable, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Assignment begins 12/07/2026.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Maine physical therapist license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience treating post-orthopedic and post-spinal surgical patients, geriatric patients, work injuries, neurological imbalances, and general physical therapy conditions
  • Skills in manual therapy, exercise science, patient education, and instruction regarding adaptive equipment such as walkers, canes, and crutches
• Additional Information:
  • Patient population consists primarily of adults and school-aged children without pediatric developmental diagnoses.
  • Weekend rotation is not required.
  • On-call coverage is not required.
  • The practice is closed on major holidays and may operate on up to 50% of minor holidays.
  • Orientation includes an initial introduction followed by up to 1.5 weeks of guided training with progressively increased patient responsibilities.
  • Collaboration is available with physical therapy assistants, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and administrative support staff.
  • Solid-color scrubs or business casual attire is acceptable.
