Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment in a Texas long-term care facility. The role requires a minimum of 2 years OTA experience in LTC and a TX license or applicable compact license.

Responsibilities include implementing therapy plans, training patients in ADLs, and documenting progress while ensuring patient safety in a home-like rehabilitative environment. Travel and licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OTA experience in a long term care setting required
• TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable
• Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a long term care skilled nursing facility setting
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• Execute specialized therapy plans designed by supervising OT
• Train patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) using adaptive techniques
• Instruct patients and families on adaptive equipment such as reachers and mobility aids
• Document patient progress, behavioral changes and safety concerns
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on home program assistance
• Prepare treatment areas, clean equipment and may assist with scheduling and billing
• Operate in a warm, home-like rehabilitative care environment focused on personalized goals
