Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health traveler position in Washington. Requires 2+ years of experience and BLS certification; incumbent will assess and treat geriatric patients, develop plans of care, and coordinate with care teams.

Position features day shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, block scheduling, housing allowance, travel reimbursement, and competitive pay. Must reside outside 60-mile radius of the facility and be willing to float within the health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OT experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Washington state license required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Experience with ADL, adaptive equipment, home assessment, pre-discharge planning, wheelchair evaluation.
• Experience with home exercise programs, lifting and transfer, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention.
• Experience with OASIS documentation.
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, at least one from a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Home health care setting serving a geriatric patient population.
• Average daily census of 650 patients.
• Patient diagnoses include HF, COPD, wounds, DM, post-surgical, respiratory illness, sepsis, dementia, s/p CVA, and s/p MI.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Block scheduling type.
• No call requirements.
• Candidates must be willing to float within the health system as needed.
• Evaluate and treat patients within the scope of Occupational Therapy, determining plan of care and treatment goals.
• May provide oversight to therapy assistants, aides, and/or students.
• Work collaboratively as part of a patient care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility.
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of submission, with limits depending on offer type.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
