Job summary

Critical Connection, inc seeks a Hand Therapist (OT) for travel or local work in South Bend, IN. The role focuses on evaluation and treatment of the hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremity with orthopedic rehab emphasis.

The specialist will fabricate splints, provide manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, and educate patients on recovery expectations. Travel or local work is available with 40 hours/week and 11-week duration.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in the state of practice.
• Certification as a CHT preferred.
• 1–2 years of hand therapy or outpatient orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and rehab techniques.
• Experience with splint fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat upper extremity patients including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings.
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses.
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Hand Therapist to join our team. This role specializes in the evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and a passion for helping patients regain function, mobility, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity conditions including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
